Pick Up The Tab will not be continuing into 2026
Have Tabs to donate? Bring them to the Elora Legion!
Do you know it takes about 2.4 million tabs to purchase a wheelchair? Imagine if we all picked up a tab, or two or more and put our collections together? We’re asking everyone to bring in their tab collections to the Sleeman Pick Up The Tab Guelph Storm game so that we can help the Elora Legion raise money for wheelchairs, walkers and assistive devices across Canada.
To up the game, we partnered with Sleeman Breweries and Guelph Storm to put on an exciting contest! Folks were encouraged to enter the contest by dropping off their tabs on February 22 and 23 and whoever brought in the most would win. Tabs will also be collected during the March 7 game so we encourage you to bring whatever you have.
Last year an incredible total of 626.61 lbs. of tabs were collected, and so far this year we are over 2,000 lbs already from the contest alone! AMAZING!
“When is a can tab more than just a can tab?
When it contributes to 487 walkers & 3,248 wheelchairs – that’s a lot of wheels!
The Guelph Community Foundation loves to support this collaborative community project with the Elora Legion, Sleeman Breweries, Guelph Storm, fans and local schools. Started 31 years ago by people with a deep sense of service, it continues today through the involvement of people like Sue Keuhl of Sleeman Breweries, Matt Newby of Guelph Storm, Teddy England and Don Cubbidge of the Elora Legion.” – Carly O’Brien, Chair of the Guelph Community Foundation’s Board of Directors
