The Guelph Community Foundation (GCF) is an independent, volunteer-driven charitable foundation whose purpose is to provide leadership in promoting community philanthropy and to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Guelph and the surrounding area. Since 1999, GCF offers a unique way for caring people to support their charitable interests through donor engagement and effective granting. We are excited to invite individuals who enjoy making a difference and being part of a team to join us – we guarantee there will never be a dull moment!
We are looking for volunteers to join our dynamic volunteer groups:
Responsible for monitoring and electing the advisor managing the foundation’s investments. The committee meets quarterly to monitor the advisor, ensuring they are adhering to the policy and guidelines set out by the committee. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
Stewardship Working Group:
Connects with fundholders and donors at the Foundation to make sure these supporters are kept up to date with Foundation news, community impact and other important information. This working group meets quarterly and members of this group interact with 5 – 10 individuals per year.
Marketing and Communications Working Group:
Identifies effective communications to improve the public awareness of GCF, provides marketing assistance, and develops an annual marketing plan. This committee supports many of the Foundation’s other working groups including the Fundraising / Special Events Working Group. Meetings usually take place every 6 weeks for 45 minutes.
Our volunteer Board of Directors and Committee groups include many community leaders who share your interests in supporting the charitable needs of our community.
