Call for new board members apply online by April 30

Are you an enthusiastic changemaker looking to give back and to support the charities in your community? Do you know a community-minded individual who enjoys collaborative work and would be interested in joining a local volunteer board? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We are seeking creative and team-minded individuals who can bring their leadership and collaborative skills to help build GCF further as we continue to grow and build our endowment for impact in the community. Each position would commence in May with a variety of term end-dates available. The expected commitment is approximately 6-12 hours per month. The Board of GCF provides strategic leadership to the organization, governs, establishes policy, oversees the setting of operational and financial performance, measures and assesses the Board’s own effectiveness.

Seeking candidates who live and/or work in Guelph and Wellington County to join our Board of Directors which balances lived experience, knowledge, and professional expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge and expertise in:

  • Fundraising, Development & Sponsorship
  • Digital Media / Communications / Marketing
  • Chartered Investment Management or equivalent
  • Social Innovation
  • Lived experience

Board members are expected to attend four board meetings a year, to join at least one committee or working group, and to be able to commit their time and resources to serve on the board for the full two-year term.

Stewardship Working Group:

Our volunteer groups include many community leaders who share your interests in supporting the charitable needs of our community. Group members are expected to attend scheduled meetings which are currently held through Zoom or as hybrid meetings held in our office. Participation is voluntary and with no remuneration for service. Don’t feel that you’re a good fit for these groups? Email us and we’ll see if there’s a more appropriate fit for your interests and skills in our many volunteer groups!
