Have you been looking for a way to support the charities in your community while working alongside other local trailblazers? Come volunteer with us!

The Guelph Community Foundation (GCF) is a volunteer-driven charitable foundation that aims to strengthen and support our community through philanthropic leadership. We inspire philanthropy as a trusted connection between people and causes and offer a unique way to empower people and causes through evidence-based granting. We are excited to invite individuals who enjoy making a difference and being part of a team to join us – we guarantee there will never be a dull moment!

We welcome all people from our community, including Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities and persons of any gender identity. We believe everyone can have input and add value, and we appreciate input from a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds. Please email [email protected] if you encounter barriers at any time in the volunteer application process. We are happy to accommodate and learn.

We are looking for volunteers to join our dynamic volunteer groups:

These events will support the Foundation, identify future development opportunities, and seek to engage the entire community. Looking for logistical thinkers, do’ers and shakers, and connection makers! Meetings for this group are monthly in the late afternoons.

Investment Committee:

Responsible for monitoring and electing the advisor managing the foundation’s investments. The committee meets quarterly to monitor the advisor, ensuring they are adhering to the policy and guidelines set out by the committee. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.

Stewardship Working Group:

Connects with fundholders and donors at the Foundation to make sure these supporters are kept up to date with Foundation news, community impact and other important information. This working group meets quarterly and members of this group interact with 5 – 10 individuals per year.

Our volunteer groups include many community leaders who share your interests in supporting the charitable needs of our community. Group members are expected to attend scheduled meetings which are currently held through Zoom or as hybrid meetings held in our office. Participation is voluntary and with no remuneration for service. Don’t feel that you’re a good fit for these groups? Email us and we’ll see if there’s a more appropriate fit for your interests and skills in our many other volunteer groups!
