Removing barriers. Building a more inclusive Guelph.

The Longfield Accessibility Fund at the Guelph Community Foundation supports projects, programs, and initiatives that create a more accessible and equitable community for everyone.
When Barbara was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2022, we all became more aware of accessibility challenges and barriers as her mobility began to decline. Although governments offer some accessibility funding programs, they do not cover the full cost of equipment and services. This fund aims to bridge the gaps charities may face in ensuring everyone can participate, contribute, and thrive, regardless of accessibility challenges.
Stronger communities create opportunities for everyone through accessible spaces, inclusive programs, affordable housing, and innovative solutions.
- Accessible Spaces: creating and improving physical and digital accessibility
- Inclusive Programs: supporting services that remove barriers and promote belonging
- Affordable Housing: helping ensure everyone has a safe, accessible place to call home
- Innovative Solutions: backing creative ideas that increase accessibility and inclusion
One of the key values our family shares is our responsibility to contribute to the community we live in. Our accessibility fund supports this value of giving back by giving you the opportunity to remove barriers and build a more inclusive Guelph.
