Home for Good & Permanent Supportive Housing

The Home for Good Campaign is a bold call to action to solve homelessness in our community. Through the generosity of individual donors, corporate supporters, and government partners we will raise $5 million to build Homes for Good for people experiencing homelessness in Guelph and Wellington. The immediate focus is to raise the capital investment required to complete three projects that will contribute 72 supportive housing units in Guelph over the next year. This solution provides people experiencing chronic homelessness with consistent social and emotional supports. Called Permanent Supporting Housing this can include programs around mental health, wellness and food security. While not the only solution, Permanent Supportive Housing is life and system changing.

Homelessness is unbearable. Homelessness is a system failure. Homelessness is closer than we think. Homelessness is solvable.

A campaign of this scale and importance needs lots of hands and experience to guide us to our goal. That is why The Guelph Community Foundation and United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin are partnering on the Home for Good Campaign. Both organizations are longtime community leaders in fundraising and community building with proven experience working together, which is why they are leading in all aspects of the campaign. This includes community outreach, fundraising, fund management and fund allocation.

Everyone in our community should have a decent and affordable home. But challenges and inequities like rising home costs, low vacancy rates and poverty mean that not everyone does.

We all do better— when we all do better.
