The Nash Dunlop Community Fund was created in Nash Dunlop’s memory, after his sudden and tragic passing on September 19th, 2026 at the age of 16.
Nash was a truly wonderful young man and a gifted athlete. He was kind-hearted, funny and engaging, and he formed genuine friendships wherever he went. He loved basketball and was known for his athleticism, competitive spirit and commitment to his teammates. Whether competing on the court, spending time with friends or simply being himself with the people he loved, Nash brought a special presence that can never be replaced.
The Nash Dunlop Community Fund was set up to ensure basketball thrives and youth sports continue to be a pillar of strength in our local community.
Donations to this fund are pooled and will be granted to charities, with the primary goals to:
- Build community through sport, bringing together athletes, coaches, teachers, students, families and neighbours.
- Strengthen school spirit and connection around John F. Ross athletics.
- Promote and support the boys’ and girls’ basketball programs at John F. Ross.
- Celebrate and recognize John F. Ross basketball players for their dedication, achievements and contributions to their school and community.
In honour of Nash Dunlop and to show support for Nash’s family, coaches, teammates and friends, we invite others to donate to the Nash Dunlop Community Fund through the Guelph Community Foundation by clicking the link below on the CanadaHelps page, or by e-transfer to [email protected] and include your name, email address and the name of the fund so we can allocate the donation.
We are grateful for the generosity and support shown by people who have already donated.
