With support from the Musagetes Arts Fund, 10C held their first ever Summer Solstice Shindig at Guelph Farmer’s Market last June. The Solstice was a shining success that welcomed more than 250 guests, alongside over 30 musicians and artists, 15 community vendors, and eight local food businesses! The event activated the Guelph Farmers’ Market with programming inside and outside the space, including art installations, workshops, and performances by local partners. Artists, vendors, and community members benefited through opportunities to share their work, meet customers, and build connections that continue to support community growth and collaboration. The Shindig was created to bring people together in a welcoming setting, celebrate local talent, and showcase the creativity and collaboration within the community while building stronger connections through a shared experience.

GCF funding supported event planning and logistics, including staffing, equipment, permits, volunteer coordination, along with community outreach and engagement to ensure broad participation across diverse groups. 10C created collaborative artistic programming by working with local organizations and artists who delivered performances, demonstrations, workshops, and activities that reflected the diversity and creativity of our community. Funding suport ensured that artists were appropriately paid and that accessiblity was increased by implementing a sliding scale ticket pricing.
